Instruction
The iconographic method of the Prosopon School is a process with a succession of defined, concrete steps. In week-long intensives students are introduced to iconology, the practical and theoretical aspects of the iconographic tradition. Explanations of iconographic symbolism and the theological basis of each step of the process are presented in parallel with the technical instruction. Through the experience of writing an icon, students of all levels are reintroduced to the teaching of the Church through the language of light, color, image and symbol.
